All animals and birds like being talked to. If you talk to animals you immediately establish a special relationship with them. Animals understand all about this but most humans don't.
You need to be perfectly honest with animals though because they have the gift and can read your feelings. You also need to be pleasant and not too loud. Nobody likes a loud talker and it's best to talk softly. Compliments are, of course, always appreciated as are any edible treats you may care to offer.
If you sit down and have a really nice long chat with an animal - especially on a regular basis - you will establish a very special rapport. You may eventually be granted the greatest honour of all - that of being accepted as one of them.
Animals and birds, of course, can talk back to you and often do. At first you may find their language hard to understand but after a while you'll get the hang of what they are trying to tell you.
So next time you are with your pet or outside somewhere and see a horse, a cow or even a chicken, squat down for a while and have a chat with your fellow creatures. People might say you are crazy but what do they know? They've never tried it.
