GHOSTS AND ANIMALS

They say 75 per cent of people in the world believe in life after death but ask someone if they believe in ghosts and they will probably say no.

Surely if there is life after death then ghosts, spirits, other world beings are likely. Even animal ghosts. It's a logical deduction.

For sure, some humans - and most animals - can detect such things. I believe animals have ESP - extra sensory perception - and other talents and instincts which enable them to see, hear and even smell spirit forms.

These are animal instincts that most humans lost a long time ago. But animals still have them. I have witnessed it with horses, dogs, cats, rats and mice.  Horses have reared and refused to go further at a certain spot. Dogs have growled or howled at something unseen. A cats fur has stood up straight, its body greatly tightened and bent as it hissed and growled at something unseen. Rats and mice have ran away and hid for unknown reasons.

At other times they have wagged their heads and tails, happy in play, while looking at something - unseen. Obviously the ghosts were friendly ones.

Animals have super hearing and sight, far superior to us. But they also can feel things. At times it amounts to being supernatural - certainly not normal.

They can know you are nearby even if you are not within smelling or hearing range. This happens often with our dog Bambi. She can't see, hear or smell me but she knows I am nearby and barks.

Animals can also read your feelings. It's uncanny. It's like they are reading your mind and know what you are going to do before you do it. They even have a sense of humour.

It's said they can tell when you are ill or if you are going to die and will sit with you and comfort you. Dogs are increasingly being used to comfort people in hospitals. Certainly animals know what mood you're in - just by feeling it.

Animals are closer to nature than we are - unless we force grow them in horrific factory farms where they see nothing of the world - not even the sky. We can learn much from them.

I have learnt that they are sentient beings with feelings like us of love and fear. Many are intelligent. They have personalities and dignity. When you have an animal friend you have a true friend for life. They deserve rights and respect. They are living beings just like us, not products.  They are Life.

So if one day you think you might have ghosts of some kind around your home, keep an eye on your pets. They may help you find them. Remember though, not all ghosts are people. There are also animal ghosts.
