Can you imagine what life would be like if we humans beings did not have legal protection. It could be a living nightmare.
Well animals are beings also and animal welfare laws deny legal protection to most animals in the world.
The hundreds of millions of animals raised for food every year in factory farms experience great pain and suffering yet legal systems do not protect them, because animal industries are only interested in money.
Common practices on factory farms which cause immense suffering and would be illegal in any other circumstance, are permitted .

| All animals have feelings and emotions, just like us |
Just a few examples are :-
* mother pigs locked up in crates smaller than their bodies for most of their pregnancy.
* Piglets having their tails sliced off and teeth cut without any form of pain relief.
* Laying hens suffering all their lives in cages where they can not even stretch their wings
* Chickens for meat made to grow faster and bigger with drugs so their legs can not support their weight.
* Cattle and sheep having their throats cut, hung upside down and often butchered while still alive
The public are not told. Governments, food retailers, farmers and animal industries want it that way. They do not want responsibility for animal welfare. Maximizing profits is the top priority and cruelty to other beings is ignored.
This lack of legal protection for animals also includes rodeos and circuses, theme parks and hunting — permitting constant cruelty to animals.
Legal protection for all animals is not asking much. Not being cruel to animals is not an unreasonable request.
That is mostly what animal activists are asking for. Activists include both meat eaters and vegetarians but they all demand compassion and decency and the rights of animals to be given dignity.
Don't let the food industry and the farmers fool you. They are not in the animal welfare business. They are in the animal cruelty business and they are in it for money.
Please speak out for the voiceless. Staying silent achieves nothing. Help to stop cruelty.
