Let's Stop the Killing

There's lots of killing and cruelty in the world. Much of it is people killing each other. But the greatest amount of killing and cruelty - at a rate of billions - is to animals.

Animal cruelty takes many forms ranging from horrendous slaughtering for food or religious beliefs to bestiality, torture , hunting and poaching.

Never in the history of the world have we killed so much or been so wicked to our fellow creatures.

Dogs and cats are eaten in Asian countries like China, Vietnam and Korea. The various methods used include hanging, beating, burning or boiling to death.
With our technology we deem ourselves to be advanced and civilised. In fact, history shows we have not advanced more than a step or two in many thousands of years of history. Mankind has never been in a bigger mess than it is today

We still make the same mistakes, follow the same paths of greed, ego, pride, vanity, corruption and - killing.

Is there some seed in the human species that makes killing essential?

China - Eater of Dog

Looking at the actuality it does seems we are a killer species and destroyers of all around us. But following that dreary path will not lead us to betterment. It is surely a route to nowhere and nothing.

Personally I believe we will not progress as beings until we learn to respect all life - ours and all of the other creatures living on this planet with us.

Killing is morally wrong. It solves little or nothing. It shames us and holds us back from spiritual advancement.

Currently there are international calls to ban human death sentences. How nice it would be if there were also calls to stop killing and torturing animals.

Then we really would be making progress.
