Rodeos are a common "entertainment" in Australia and other countries like the USA but ( like bullfighting) many people don't know they involve sadistic cruelty to the animals involved like calves, bulls, horses.
It's only in recent times that decent people have become aware of the terrible harm caused to rodeo animals and that major sponsors like Telstra have quickly withdrawn their support upon seeing such cruelty.
The men in big hats who stage these disgusting events and the idiots who attend them are hardly interested in animal welfare. Acting like tough guy cowboys is more their style and, of course, making money is the major attraction.
Rodeos are conducted in all Australian States and although some have limited animal protection laws hardly any of these laws are observed or policed. Various painful techniques are used to "ignite" the poor animals and make them appear "wild".
